Juan Son
Juan Carlos Pereda, better known as Juan Son was born January 24, 1984 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
He began his musical journey at a very early age: ” I remember my first band, named Knuvo… it was a pop rock group and it was my first shot at being the lead singer of a band,” recalls Juan with a mischievous tone. A few years later, Juan Son decided to study music in England and joins the "London Center of Contemporary Music".
In 2004 Juan returned to Mexico and Porter was born. They released an EP "Donde Los Ponys Pastan" (Where the Ponies Graze) and a successful album “Atemahawke", in 2007.
2008 brings the demise of Porter and Juan Son began working on his solo project. He was submerged in his new adventure and collaborated with internationally known artists such as Julieta Venegas. He was also approached by Los Odio to do a remake of the Cheap Trick classic "I want you to want me" for the soundtrack of the Mexican film Rudo y Cursi.
On February 17, 2009, Juan Son released his debut album “Mermaid Sashimi” under critical praise. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
